Networking with a Difference

THE organisers of a popular business network are on track for their next event – on board the East Lancashire Railway.

Delegates attending the September meeting of ‘Meet Eat Debate’ will be able to network on the move during a return train journey from Rawtenstall to Bury on Friday September 22 between 11am and 2pm.

The event will also feature a talk by Pete Booth, Head Brewer, and Luke Ashburn, brewery manager, from Irwell Works Brewery in Ramsbottom.

Irwell Works Brewery is situated in the former 'Irwell Steam, Tin, Copper and Iron Works' on Irwell Street in the town.

Brewing started in November 2010 and they now have five standard beers name in honour of the works, including 'Copper Plate' 3.8% Bitter, 'Steam Plate' 4.3% Best Bitter, 'Iron Plate' 4.4% Lancashire Stout, 'Tin Plate' 3.6% Dark Mild and 'Richard Mason's 1888' 4.0% Pale Ale.

Les Nutter, Managing Partner at Cassons and host of ‘Meet Eat Debate’ said: “The East Lancashire Railway dates back to 1846 and forms a huge part of Lancashire’s industrial heritage.

“Over the years, it’s helped put the region on the map – just like Irwell Works Brewery is doing today.

“Craft breweries are on the rise and increasing in popularity, and so we thought our delegates would like to hear more about those establishments on their doorsteps.

“We look forward to hearing from Pete and Luke about what makes a good beer and the recipe for a successful business.”

This unique ‘Meet Eat Debate’ takes place on Friday September 22 and anyone interested in attending is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
