Blackburn-based textile company Vision Support Services has been named ‘International Business of the Year’ at the 2017 E3 Business Awards.

The event, which was held at the Macron Stadium in Bolton, on the 13th July, celebrated the achievements of businesses from across the north west and across a range of industries, each hoping to come away with a coveted title.

Attended by over 500 people, this is the second time Vision was shortlisted; winning Business of the Year in 2016.

The company was up for three awards throughout the night including Corporate Social Responsibility award, Business of the Year and International Business of the Year before walking away with the award recognising their international growth and success over the last year.

Vision, which is a leading supplier and distributor of specialist, luxury and performance textiles to the global accommodation, healthcare and retail markets, faced strong competition from nominees across the north west.

Set up in 2005, Vision has gone from a relatively unknown name in the market to having over 6,500 customers worldwide, across five continents and has expanded its global base to include seven overseas offices with plans to open further premises in the future.

Collecting the award on behalf of Vision; Group Finance Director, Mark Doyle, said: “This is the award we wanted to win the most. Over the last few years, we’ve worked hard to create a global, unified business after amalgamating three well-known textile businesses into one international organisation.

We continue to invest in our IT and infrastructure to ensure we keep pace with what our customers demand and our cost-effective supply chain coupled with our superior customer service platform is what makes us different to other textile companies; it’s a service that is unique to Vision. Ultimately, though, it’s our people that deliver the Vision offering to the four corners of the world and without them, this win could not have been possible.”

Speaking on behalf of 1 Events Media, the host and organiser of the awards, Managing Director Mubarak Chati said: “2017 broke all records in terms of the number of award nominations we received so to come away with a win is an achievement of which Vision can be very proud.

“Every year, the E3 Business Awards give us a new insight into the many talented and hard-working businesses that are thriving in the North West. Despite uncertain economic conditions, companies, social enterprises and individual entrepreneurs remain undaunted; they continue to grow, to create jobs and to improve people's lives. Vision Support Services is a fine example of that enterprising spirit and the E3 Awards are all about providing the recognition that such organisations deserve.”

The company’s most recent award follows its inclusion in the Sunday Times International Track 200 league table in June; appearing for the third time in four years.
