Save the date - Cathedral Quarter Careers Event

Blackburn w Darwen Council would like to inform you of a large careers event that is due to take place within Blackburn Cathedral and surrounding outside spaces on the 14th September 2017.

The event will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm and will be attended by schools (age 15 upwards), further and higher education students and those not currently engaged in employment, education or training (from within the borough and beyond).

Along with a large number of employers, representing a variety of sectors, post 16 learning and training providers will also be present. The council are planning an interactive event to engage the audience and to offer ‘hands on’ experience of a rich variety of employment opportunities, including apprenticeships. A number of short workshops will also be on offer, aiming to support young people in the recruitment process, and to raise awareness of the wide range of employment opportunities in specific sectors.  You are most welcome to contribute to the workshops, just let the council know if you are interested.

Although the council have secured a wonderful and spacious venue, there will be a cut-off for the number of employers they can accommodate. With this in mind, if you would like to register your interest for the event, please respond to Safiyya Mulla (Safiyya.mulla@blackburn.gov.uk ) by Friday 30 June. A booking form requesting further information on what you will bring to the event will then be issued. This will allow the council to ensure that the best possible range of employers and vacancies are represented.
