A leading Lancashire motor group is celebrating after being crowned ‘Retail Business of the Year’ at the Red Rose Awards in Blackpool.

The Chorley Group, which operates dealerships in Chorley, Wigan, Preston, Burnley and Blackpool, picked up the award at the annual ceremony.

The judging panel said the firm had made solid investment in technology, people and showrooms; and customer service was at the centre of Chorley Group’s success.

Sales Director Adam Turner said he was delighted to see the firm recognised as Lancashire’s top retail business.

“We’re very proud to receive this award as it reflects the pride we take in excellent customer service, which is at the heart of everything we do,” Adam said.

“We’ve made a big investment to upgrade our showrooms with the new manufacturer Corporate Identity, to significantly improve the customer experience.

“Our Preston dealership was the first to have a makeover and the feedback we’ve had from customers has been extremely positive so that programme is being rolled out across our other sites, most recently Burnley.”

“Our philosophy has always been ‘treat your customers like you’d want your mother to be treated. If something is wrong then put it right.’ It’s a simple mantra but it works very well.”

This latest win follows a string of accolades presented to the Chorley Group. Last year, the Chorley Nissan dealership won one of the industry’s highest honours – the Nissan Global Award. For the past seven years the Chorley showroom has also been presented with Retailer of the Year by Nissan.

In 2015, the Chorley dealership also won the customer service award in the Red Rose Awards  and the previous year it was presented with the Family Business of the Year title.

The Red Rose Awards are Lancashire’s premier business awards and took place at Blackpool Winter Gardens.
