Pupils from East Lancashire celebrated completing the Burnley College Young Engineers programme.
The unique 12 week programme is aimed at providing young people with an outstanding experience to inspire them to begin a career in engineering. Throughout the programme, the Young Engineers gained knowledge from top local employers, including WEC, Safran Nacelles (Formerly Aircelle), Hycrome, Paradigm Precision, RLC Callender, T & R Precision, SACO Specialist Anodising, The Senator Group and Fort Vale.
Members of the programme also completed a STEM CREST award, perfect for their record of achievement.
Deputy Principal Simon Jordan said:
“The number of applications we received for this year’s Young Engineers programme was unprecedented and each of the Young Engineers we had the pleasure of working with throughout the 12 week programme have proven themselves to be hard-working, committed and most importantly highly interested in Engineering as a subject and a career. It’s our hope that this exciting opportunity for young people to learn about engineering skills, workplace safety and professionalism from experts will continue for many years to come.”
