The North West Cyber Security Cluster are holding a 2 day Cyber Security Conference on 23rd and 24th March 2015 at the Macron Stadium, Bolton. This free to attend conference will feature speakers from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Lancaster University, The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, the Information Commissioner’s Office, and BAE Systems.

The conference will allow businesses to gain the latest insights into the threat posed from cyber attacks, the most common risks, and how to mitigate those risks. Delegates will also learn how adopting good cyber security can offer competitive advantage in their marketplace and critically, win more business.

With a strong focus on securing the supply chain, the NWCSC are encouraging businesses involved in supplying nuclear and utilities, advanced manufacturing, engineering and professional services to attend. With the inclusion of a key note from BAE Systems, suppliers in the aerospace and defence sectors are also strongly advised to attend.

Day one will be focused on the nuclear sector, driven by the NDA, with day two offering a similar agenda delivered to largely manufacturing and professional services. Day one will feature keynotes from the NDA, BIS and the Cabinet Office. On day two, we welcome the ICO and what promises to be an enlightening keynote from Giles England of BAE Systems.

The North West Cyber Security Cluster is a collective of North West based SMEs and Lancaster University, who are collaborating to improve the state of cyber security in the North West. Our aims are to secure the supply chains of advanced manufacturing, engineering and nuclear power, which provide a vast amount of business to the North West. Longer term we aim for the North West to be seen as a “centre of excellence” for cyber security, with the cluster leading the way.
