As part of efforts to raise funds for our nominated charity of the year, staff from Taylor Patterson organised a charity golf day on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice at Shaw Hill Golf Club in Chorley.

The team at Taylor Patterson each year nominate a local charity that has been chosen by the staff to focus their fund raising efforts. The charity golf day was the first time that we have arranged an external sporting event of this scale.

Keith Pressler Director commented “We were extremely fortunate with the weather for the golf day and it was a very pleasant sunny day. This allowed the golfers to appreciate the beauty and quality of the Shaw Hill golf course and complex. I would like to thank the golfers and companies that attended and kindly donated monies to this great cause. The event generated a fantastic sum of over £600 and this will be added to our current funds meaning we are well on schedule to reach our target goal of raising £6,000 for the year.”

The day was a great success, with individual prizes being awarded for the nearest the pin, which was won by Rob Pettican from KPMG who managed a fantastic effort of 26 feet from the hole on the very difficult 12th green. The longest drive was struck by Peter Bush from Royal Bank of Scotland on the 18th hole. The team competition was closely contested with the top three teams all being separated by one point. The winners were Royal Bank of Scotland, runners up M&G Investments and third place taken by Pierce Accountants. The winners received the coveted trophy, a four ball round of golf at Shaw Hill and golf polo shirts.

Our next main event of the year is our Annual Quiz on the 6th November at Preston Masonic Hall, now in its eighth year.
