BURNLEY'S Primark store is set to open next week.

The Lancashire Telegraph exclusively revealed in March the store would open on Friday, May 18, creating 110 jobs.

The new store will open at 10am and will cover more than 32,000 square feet of retail space.

Since the December 2015 announcement of the coup for the town, opening had been scheduled for some time this year.

Politicians and town hall officials worked closely with Addington Capital on the deal, which will bring the popular clothes retailer to Charter Walk Shopping Centre.

The new Primark store will be on Curzon Street, next door to Next.

The brand provides a variety of men's, women's and children's clothing.

At the time of its announcement, Cllr Mark Townsend, Burnley Council leader said he was pleased Primark was coming.
