A KITCHEN firm has created five jobs and flats by expanding and relocating into a new £300,000 showroom.

Kitchen Design Centre (KDC) opened the new showroom in Gisburn Road, Barrowford, earlier this year after moving from its base in Regent Street, Colne.

Photographs show the new 3,000 square foot showroom, which occupies the former Plunketts building .

Renovation work on the building took a year and the showroom includes space for two flats above.

The premises in Barrowford will act as KDC’s flagship showroom and marks a major part of the group’s expansion plans.

Roger Astin, managing director of the Kitchen Design Centre, said the firm was looking forward to adding to the retail experience in Barrowford.

Mr Astin said: “Barrowford is the ideal location for us.

“There is an enormous amount of passing traffic, a prominent high street and the village itself is really booming.

“We are looking forward to adding to the retail experience in Barrowford and enhancing what the village has to offer.”

The official opening of the new showroom saw invited guests, suppliers and staff celebrate with an all-day party that included Neff cooking demonstrations, design talks and the unveiling of six new displays.

Mr Astin added: “We’re already known for delivering on-trend kitchens and our new showroom outlines our capabilities even further.

“The displays in the new showroom really do evoke the ‘wow’ factor and show that we can produce stunning kitchens at a realistic price point.

“At KDC we don’t just design and install a kitchen but we help with all aspects of the project including flooring and lighting.”

KDC was established in 1984 and has showrooms in Manchester, Blackburn and Barrowford. Its head office is based in Rossendale.

A successful formula of offering high-end kitchens with stunning design at a competitive price has resulted in enormous growth.

The company continues to expand with a Liverpool showroom planned for later this year.
