FLOOD and pollution specialists Detectronic has signed a deal to supply smart network monitoring technology in Cyprus.

The Colne firm, through their Greek partners Metrica, to provide the Sewerage Board of Limassol-Amathus (SBLA) with the equipment, which will also see local operatives being trained to use the system.

After winning a contract from SBLA, in which Metrica specified Detectronic’s tried and tested ATEX MSFM Multi-Sensor Flow Monitors, both companies will work together to install the flow measurement monitoring system.

Dave Walker, Detectronic’s commercial director, said: “This is the latest in a number of wastewater monitoring projects we have delivered with Metrica and we are delighted to be working with the team again.

“Tasked with construction, operation and maintenance of the public sewerage and stormwater drainage system of Greater Limassol, the SBLA is committed to improving the hygienic and environmental conditions in the area.

“In order to achieve this, SBLA recognised that flow monitoring of the main sewage networks was imperative.”

Concludes Dave: “We expect this project to expand across other regions over the next 12 months so this represents an exciting milestone for our global operations.”
