YOU can ask Carly McKenna anything and be sure she will have an answer – although predicting winning lottery numbers is not her speciality.

That doesn’t matter to the public who come into The Mall in Blackburn town centre every day; they think she knows everything because she is part of the Ask Me Point team.

One thing this bubbly 30-year-old is certain of, however, is how much she loves her job – due in no small measure to the team of people she works with.

She said: “Everyone here is just lovely and the job is very varied. I don’t just stand behind a desk telling people where to go all day.

“We have different events and activities on and I get involved in those and I really enjoy meeting the public – I’ll talk to anyone.”

Carly originally trained as a nursery assistant and that background has proved helpful during school holidays when The Mall often offers activities for children while their parents do some shopping.

While she is happy in her present role, which she has been in for three and a half years, Carly admits to having ambitions – although they are all centred on The Mall.

She said: “I joke with my boss that one day I’ll be sitting in her chair. I really do want to progress as far as I can.”

This year marks Carly’s second time as a finalist in the Hive Business Awards and she is hoping this time she will walk away a winner.
