AN award-winning East Lancashire food company wants to get punters hooked on fishy treats with a week of events celebrating the bounty of the ocean.

Ribble Valley-based Seafood Pub Company boasts seven venues across Lancashire, including the Barley Mow in Barley, Downham’s Assheton Arms, and Oyster & Otter in Feniscowles.

Now it is aiming to land its biggest catch by staging Seafood Week from Monday, September 21, to Sunday, September 27, and inviting guests to take part in exciting themed events.

Managing director Joycelyn Neve said: “My family has a long history of working in the fishing industry and I am passionate about encouraging people to enjoy the fabulous seafood we specialise in.

“The menus and events we have put together for Seafood Week are the perfect way to do this, offering something for all diners.”

Events include a Secret Seafood Supper at the Assheton Arms and surf and turf menus at the Barley Mow and Oyster & Otter.

Joycelyn said: “All seven of our sites across Lancashire are involved in the celebrations, with something different happening every day.

“There is already a feeling of excitement among our staff, and preparations are well under way to make this a week to remember.”

Further afield, singer and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Ella Shaw will be the special guest at a Coast to Coast dinner at the Derby Arms in Longridge, the event raising funds for Alopecia UK.

This year the company claimed a prestigious food prize at the Publican Awards at the Grosvenor Hotel in London. That success came six moths after the firm was named R200 Pub Company of the Year, beating industry giants Brew Dog and New World Trading Co.

Ticket prices range from £25 to £55 for the events.
