YOUNG business entrepreneur Rebecca Little decided to take a big step for small feet — and started her own on-line retail business.

She is one of the seven million women who have petite feet — so is her older sister Emma and her mum Mandy.

Fed up with the limited choice of size twos available — and having to pay high prices to go with it — the former pupil of Simonstone Primary School, has set up She’s So Shoes. It gives women an exclusive choice of small size, fashionable footwear all in one place.

Twenty-four-year-old Rebecca is the youngest daughter of former Colne and Read Cricket Club batsman Terry Little and granddaughter of the late Bob Little, who also played for Colne.

Her business has been up and running since the summer and already she has seen orders come in from all over the country.

She said: “I’d been looking for a range of shoes for my tiny feet for years, but I thought they were boring, old-fashioned and didn’t fit well – and I know I’m not the only one.

“In the end I decided to do us all a favour by launching a brand new website.”

Rebecca spent more than a year, putting her business plan in place and sourcing her range of footwear from the continent and believes she has a range now to cater for all needs, whether customers want a sturdy boot for winter or a special pair of heels for a wedding and at a price that is affordable.

She added: “My classic range of footwear for petite feet won’t break the bank and are perfect for every need.”

“Founding such an on-line business has eliminated common frustrations for customers with petite feet, such as high price tags and limited stock.

“It’s meant a lot of hard work, getting everything in place.

“And I learnt as I went along about how to set up a business, how to win grants and how to find the right suppliers, but it has been worthwhile in the end.

“I’m getting repeat custom from people who used to have to buy children’s shoes and so had never been able to wear a pair of adult heels — just like my mum -—and I am looking forward to seeing the business go from strength to strength this year.”
