Crawshawbooth butchers battle to bee named best in the UK

A CRAWSHAWBOOTH butchers is battling it out to be named the best in the UK.
Riley’s, based in Burnley Road, is the only Lancashire shop to make the final three in the North of England category.
Owners Geoff and Paula will find out next month if they are in with a chance of winning the national crown, on November 24.
It is the third year in a row Riley’s has made the shortlist for the awards, organised by leading trade magazine The Meat Trades Journal.
Geoff said: “The past 12 months have been all about investing in our facilities and our output, which has enabled us to update equipment, expand our bakery department and the products we sell.
“All of us here at Riley’s are delighted to have made the shortlist for a third year in a row.
“It’s a real achievement for the team.”
Riley’s has also been nominated in the Retailer of the Year category in this year’s Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards.
