1:41pm Thursday 4th October 2012 in News
STAFF at Nelson and Colne College are toasting some of their students who are starting out at university.
Students from the pre-professional programmes offered by the college in subjects such as medicine, law, teaching and journalism Rachel Cox, student services manager at the College said, "It is fantastic that such a large number of our students have been successful in gaining places at university with the help of our pre-professional programmes.
“Our Pre-Professional programmes are designed to ensure that those who are interested in the medical, teaching, law and journalism professions are successful with their university applications.
“The skills and experience they gain through tailored sessions and voluntary work on the pre-professional programmes help to boost both their CV and university application, making them the most attractive candidates for these top places.”

Come to think of it, a CV isn't needed either. Of course a large number of students gained a place at University, only to be expected, there's no jobs.

What I meant to say is "I am pretty sure that the article says that doing volunteer work boosts a CV"! I'd have thought this was true. If you are 16 and have just left school, I'd say work experience or volunteer work (a form of work experience) is vital to finding work
