Barley car park was expanded without permission

FURTHER enforcement could take place at a fishery in Barley after the car park was increased in size without permission.

Officers at Pendle Council started action in June after unlawful building work was found to have taken place at Boothman Park, which is within the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Four timber camping pods, a field kitchen building and a wc/shower building were built without authority and a retrospective planning application was refused.

Alex Cameron, of Pendle Council, said: “Upon further investigation of the site and site history, it has become clear that the parking area within the site adjacent to the fishing pods has been increased in size.”

Another planning application must be submitted for this work now.

Mr Cameron said: “If this application is not received within a reasonable timescale, it is proposed that an enforcement notice be served requiring the removal of the car park.”
