Mosques bid to help Nelson needy kids (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Come on get real. There are no starving children in Nelson. Now Africa, well, that is a different story.

These projects are for political and religious reasons and done to show Islam in a good light.While all charity should be welcomed the fact is there are hidden agendas and motives behind this.

lets hope the needy get it and not families who smoke go out on the beer and just spend their giro's on rubbish.sorry but im a big fan in the american system where you get food vouchers etc to stop parents blowing their state payments on drugs alcohol and fags.this is a way to protect children from their stupid parents who only think of themselves.i know people on the dole who have i phone 4's on £40 contracts rather than feed and clothe their kids

why are kids in nelson needy im trying to work out why colne,burnley brierfield kids are not in the same boat.if parents are on benefits is the money not the same where ever you live.?.i know the scheme is there to help but questons have to be asked.

With all the money and gifts to charities and churches, mosques, etc If they all band together nobody would be hungry or homeless, Whatever the alleged agenda's if genuine needy people are helped out then all well and good. The biggest problem I see is poor parenting by people who can not seem to get the priorities right, Sadly the children suffer.

It's good to see people working together. Hopefully everybody will get something positive from the experience.

How long is this madness going to go on for, its about time they gave out food stamps to the unemployed. That's what a carring society would do for the sake of the children, because then the sewear rats wouldn't be able to spend there benefits on fags.

The point is being made about the ongoing genocide of the white race according to policies promoted by the anti-white global plantation owners.

Whites are not having enough babies to replace themselves.

Africa is a breeding ground for new immigrants to all white countries. We can't let them starve.

This project aims to help tackle this issue, and at the same time promote diversity and unity in the region.

There are always going to be critical people but I think this is a great way to help people those in need. It is better than waiting for the government to do something. We need more projects like this and give something back to the community.

Here we have a story about a number of Mosques joining a project set up by local churches to distribute food to people who are struggling to make ends meet from all communities.

Many of the same people who say they want the Muslim communities to integrate more are complaining that this a 'takeover' or a 'hidden agenda'.

So, if Muslims just do their own thing, they are refusing to integrate. But if they join in with non-Mulsim groups, they are taking over. Heads I win, tails you lose.

@Coat Warder:- The project isn't just aimed at kids in Nelson but rather the whole of Pendle and Beyond so we are very much keen to help people in Burnley, Brierfield, Colne etc. In fact the problem in Burnley is probably even worse as they are some of the poorest areas in the country. One of the Inspiring Grace volunteers is going to go and visit a mosque in Burnley today to see if we can get something organised.

The big Question, why is this happening to so many.???

@Big Boss: A good question, part of it is a lack or parental responsibility and I very much endorse the idea of bringing in food vouchers. The other problem is rising cots of gas and electricity coupled with a cut in benefits, please see below for some news stories explaining the problem in more detail.

Where does the story say there are starving kids in Nelson?

It says there are families struggling to feed their kids. Which would mean kids going hungry or having to eat unhealthy crap rather than having a proper meal.

Well I for one think this is an excellent initiative and one that should be applauded.

The asian community is coming together to try and help the poorer members of the indeginous white population and I think that it is a good thing, and considering all the rhetoric on this site and the talk of non-integration and the asians isolating themselves.

Good work all involved.

i live in barnoldswick i have been unemployed in the past i have a job that pays £6.23 per hour the job i do the goverment wont let me have a second job.as i have to have a certain amount of time off due to the law.i have 2 mortgages 1 to buy my house and the second was to bring my house up to standard of living.i could not get a grant to do this as i lived in barlick but yet people in nelson could get one ,willy nilly.the council said they were on low wages ,yes so was i.and they could not afford to do up their house,neither could i thats why i got a second mortgage to do it but yet in nelson its open season on grants and free work on your home if you qualify.well i did but got nowt.im no better off than a poor person in nelson but treated totally diffrentley.

Nelson is not exempt from this and the situation is likely to worsen when Universal Credit is introduced in 2013/2014 as draconian measures will be made to get people to extend part time working to full time or benefits will be lost.
The Trussell Trust and other food providers are already having to increase their food banks because of increased demand and need.
I think it's great that there is some community spirit (whether it be Ramadan or whatever that brings it about) to provide for the needy and applaud them.
