Nelson man in dog attack allegation

A MAN has appeared in court charged with owning a dangerous dog and allowing a dog to be out of control.

Rein Preem, 56, of Percy Street, Nelson did not enter a plea during a hearing at Burnley magistrates’ court.

The charges relate to an alleged attack on a 54-year-old man and his dog by a pit bull-type animal in Berkley Close, Nelson, at 6.43pm on Saturday, June 19.

The man suffered serious hand and arm injuries and was taken by ambulance to hospital.
