Ted Robbins to host anniversary Pendle Witch Walk

TV and radio star Ted Robbins is set to compere the Pendle Witch Walk.

The event has been planned to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the witch trials and organisers are hoping it will break a world record for the biggest ever gathering of ‘witches’.

The five-mile circular walk from Barley to Pendle Hill on August 18 will end with live music on Barley Green with free food and entertainment for registered walkers.

Mr Robbins said: “Pendle Witch Walk is set to be a massive event and it’s one I’m really looking forward to.

“It’s a unique way to mark the 400th anniversary of one of the defining moments of Lancashire’s history.

“With hundreds of sponsored walkers dressed in witch fancy dress and a series of musical treats during the afternoon on Barley Green, it’s definitely the event to attend this summer.”

The event raises money for Pendleside Hospice.
