A WOMAN was cut out of a car after a crash in Accrington.

A Lancashire Fire Service spokesman said two cars crashed in Victoria Street at around 9pm on Saturday.

A red car was seen on the road along with damaged bollards.

He said: "Crews were there for about an hour and we had to cut the person out of the car.

"She was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.

"Two fire engines and crews from Hyndburn were assigned to the aftermath.

"Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to rescue the casualty.

"The cause of the crash is under investigation."
