MORE than £250 has been raised to help send a group of army veterans on a pilgrimage to Belgium in memory of the end of the First World War.
In August 2018, two representatives from every branch of the Royal British Legion are invited to carry their standards along the same route, representing an entire generation that served while defending their country.
Burnley councillors Lubna Khan and Cllr Lian Pate are raising the money, cllr Khan said: "We’re delighted to be able to help support the Royal British Legion’s fundraising campaign to take part in this historic commemoration event.
