A MAN suffered a head injury after several men were involved in a brawl in a Burnley street.

The man was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment after the incident in Colne Road which also involved a crash between two cars on Monday.

A police spokesman said: “Officers were called around 11.35pm to reports of a public order offence in Casterton Avenue.

“Police attended and found several men involved in an altercation on Colne Road.

“A man had suffered a head injury during the incident and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.

“It is believed two vehicles, a BMW and an Audi, had been involved in a collision during the altercation.”

Det Insp Leah Rice said: “We would like to reassure residents violence of this nature will not be tolerated and patrols have been increased in the area.

“Anyone with information about the incident can contact police on 101."
