The incident in Briercliffe happened at 7.50am and involved a blue Mazda and a silver Ford Fiesta.

It happened in Robin House Lane and the road is closed at the junction on Southfield Road. Knotts Lane is also blocked. A police spokesman said nobody has been seriously injured in that incident.

Police said there has also been a crash involving a white Citron Relay and a second vehicle in Skipton Old Road, Colne.

The driver of the van is thought to have lost control on a bend and was hit by a second.

The van has then gone into a ditch. Nobody is thought to have been seriously injured in that incident.

Police are also at the scene of a crash in Barrowford. The incident happened at 8.50am in Barnoldswick Road. Police said it involved two vehicles and nobody is seriously injured.

Motorists are also being warned to avoid Hibson Road, Nelson because of icy driving conditions.

Sgt Shaun Pearson said: "Police are currently attending seven reported RTCs across Nelson and Barrowford due to this morning's weather.

"The top of Hibson Rd is particularly bad with vehicles sliding.

"I would advise to delay any journeys for a little while unless necessary to allow for the snow and ice to melt and traffic to start flowing normally.

"Be safe out there on the roads."
