A MAN has been cleared of threatening to bomb and burn down a police officer’s house.
It was alleged Munir Ali Hussain, 35, allegedly made the threat to PC Gallagher in Brierfield on August 6 but he was found not guilty at Burnley Magistrates Court.
He was found guilty of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent intent to cause a person to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against him by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by him whereby that person was likely to believe that such violence would be used. That offence took place in Brierfield ion August 6.
Hussain, of Chapel Street, Brierfield, was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. He will be sentenced by magistrates on January 11.
