A TAXI driver has appeared before a judge accused of sexually abusing three 14-year-old girls.

Syed Shah, 28, pleaded not guilty to eight counts of causing or inciting a child to engage a child in sexual activity when he appeared before Judge Beverley Lunt at Burnley Crown Court.

The court heard that Shah, of Ada Street, Burnley, allegedly committed the offences between January 2015 and June 2016. All the charges relate to alleged assaults against three 14-year-old girls., who can not be names for legal reasons.

He was given conditional bail not to contact his alleged victims and told to return to the court fora four-day trial on February 13. Defending, Wayne Goldstein said: “He accepts that there was some sexual content in some of their conversations but he maintains it didn’t extend to sexual activity.”
