A 22-YEAR-OLD man suffered a broken back in a horror crash in Pendle.

The man who was the front seat passenger of a Toyota Picnic which crashed in to a wall on Keighley Road, Laneshaw Bridge, was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A 37-year-old man sat in the rear of the vehicle suffered bruising to his leg and was taken to Airedale General Hospital.

The 51-year-old driver of the car was not seriously injured.

Police said the crash happened at around 3.45pm on Friday and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Keighley Road was closed for more than three hours whilst the men were treated and accident investigation works were carried out.

Sgt David Hurst, of Lancashire Police, said: “We are keen to speak with any witnesses to this accident.

“A 22-year-old man has suffered serious injuries and is currently in hospital being treated.

“If you saw what happened, please contact police immediately.”
