A SUSPECTED van thief has been arrested by police after a pursuit across East Lancashire in the early hours.
Police patrols are believed to have been alerted to an alleged theft around the Spring Wood picnic site at Whalley, around 1am.

The van was followed until it pulled up outside Padiham Memorial Park, Blackburn Road, and a suspect left the vehicle.
Several police cars and vans were spotted by neighbours in the vicinity and police have confirmed that a 28-year-old Padiham man was arrested shortly afterwards.
He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, possession of a class A drug and theft and was still being questioned by officers today.
