PLANS to build six new houses on land at Green Meadow, in Trawden, have been submitted to Pendle Council.

A spokesman for planning agents Andrew Hawthorne Architects said: "The proposed site is agricultural land to the south of Green Meadow. Green Meadow is an existing residential cul-de-sac of three bungalows and is itself surrounded by residential development off Colne Road and Bright Terrace.

"The proposed development is for three pairs of four bedroom semi-detached two and a half storey dwellings with linked single garages.

"The main consideration as regards the proposed development would be its position outside of the settlement boundary. It is not considered in itself that this represents a ‘significant adverse impact’.

"The development is considered acceptable with regards to design including impact on the Trawden Forest Conservation Area, access and impact on amenities.

"It is therefore concluded that there are no significant or demonstrable adverse impacts associated with approving the development and the benefits of the scheme in contributing to the councils five year housing supply outweigh any policy concerns regarding the sites relationship to the settlement boundary."
