NEW matron for urgent care Lizzi Vooght has swapped the scenic Jurassic Coast for working at Airedale Hospital.

The mother-of-three has moved from Weymouth, where she worked in a GP walk-in centre to Grassington, to take charge of a new emergency department, which deals with patients from the Pendle area.

Following her training and working in urgent care at Dorset County Hospital, Lizzi moved to the Darzi Centre whilst still working out of hours in A&E and for the local ambulance trust.

She said: “I knew I always wanted to return to working in urgent care and acute hospital environment, but now I can draw on my whole experience across both primary and secondary care to support my team in the best way possible.

Lizzi explained her goal is to provide patients with the right care, from the very outset of coming into hospital.

She said: “This helps us to provide a comprehensive, seamless discharge process so that patients can truly benefit from an integrated care approach Airedale has with the wider health community, both inside and out of the hospital, including teams such as, the district nurses .”
