A PENSIONER suffered three fractured ribs after her car was hit by a van that failed to stop in Burnley.
The 75-year-old woman was a passenger in a white Vauxhall Corsa which was being driven by an 81-year-old man.
The car had stopped to give way at the junction of The Ridge with Brunshaw Road, in Burnley, around 3.40pm last Thursday, when it was struck by a blue van.

The van did not stop and is thought to have travelled in the general direction of Burnley town centre. It was followed by a member of the public and seen turning left onto Brunshaw Avenue before it was lost on Morse Street.
PC Mark Ramon, from the East Road Policing Unit, said: βIt is lucky the elderly driver and passenger from the Corsa were not more seriously injured. We are keen to trace the driver of the van and urge anyone with information to come forward.β
