CLARETS fans queued round the block to meet their Premier League heroes in Burnley town centre.

Burnley FC stars George Boyd and Michael Keane were in town yesterday to chat with fans, sign autographs and have their pictures taken at the club shop in Charter Walk.

And hundreds of fans turned out, some queuing up for about four hours for the event.

Winger Boyd, who has scored four goals in 22 games since signing for the Turf Moor side, said: “It is great to give something back and with it being half-term there were lots of kids coming out and it was great to see them all.”

Darren Jones and his son, Harvey, from Rawtenstall, were among those who met the duo.

Harvey said: “It was really exciting. They are two of my favourite players.”

Mr Jones said: “It is good of them to come into town and meet people like this.

“We are all enjoying this season in the Premier League and hopefully we can stay up.”

Janine Dawson, of Todmorden, took her son, Max, 11, to the event. Max said: “It is really good to be able to come and meet the players.”

Terry and Margaret Burrows, of Brierfield, were joined by daughter Lindsey and grandsons Joshua, three, and Junior, four.

Junior said: “I loved meeting them. It was definitely worth the wait.”
