THE relatives of a man stabbed to death in Burnley have paid tribute to a ‘much loved member of the family.’

Keith Passmore, 60, was found dead in a flat in Clifton Road after a nearby resident raised the alarm with police at the weekend.

Two men have been charged with his murder and were remanded in custody following a court appearance yesterday.

In a statement, Mr Passmore’s family said: “This is a very sad and trying time for the family. Keith was a much loved member of the family.

“He will be sadly missed not just by his family but very close friends that he had both in Padiham and Burnley and further afield. Wherever Keith went he made friends.

“May the family express a big thank you to the police for their support. It has helped the family enormously.

“Also we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have contacted the family and passing on condolences.

“It is very heart -warming to know there are so many people out there who care. Thank you.”

Paul Howarth, 47, of Clifton Road, and Gary Burley, 44, of Herbert Road, both Burnley, were remanded in custody after appearing at Preston Crown Court via video-link yesterday.

Gary Burley was also charged with making threats to kill.

Their next appearance is due to be at a plea and case management hearing at Liverpool Crown Court, on Monday, April 20.
