A PROJECT to improve the health of residents in Rossendale and Chorley has landed £1.2 million funding.

Living Well, Living Better will be piloted in the two boroughs in partnership with the county council, and was described as a “multi-agency and integrated wellbeing and resilience system”.

Rossendale Council’s chief executive Helen Lockwood said: “This is a fantastic result for Rossendale and we are looking forward to working with Lancashire County Council and health colleagues to get the project off the ground and start to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of Rossendale residents.

“There is a lot to do and more details will come forward as the project takes shape.”

As well as improving health and wellbeing outcomes, the project also aims to improve service standards, create a more financially sustainable health and social care system, and improve connections in the community to enable people to help themselves and support each other.
