X Factor fever will grip Burnley when two finalists share a stage as part of the annual Christmas lights switch-on.

Amelia Lily and Luke Friend, who lost out to Sam Bailey in the 2013 contest, have been booked to light up the town on Sunday, November 23, and officially kick off the Christmas shopping season.

Fellow contestants from the ITV talent show Janet Devlin and Kingsland Road also form part of the line-up, alongside Britain's Got Talent luminaries Jai McDowall, Harry Mondryk, James Smith, Bailey McConnell and Gabz, with emerging girl band Tiger Heart also performing.

TV and film favourites Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will rub shoulders with street entertainers, stilt walkers and fairground rides on St James Street, before the 3pm show.

Choirs from St John's Cliviger and Unity College, along with Sanderson's Dance School, are also on the bill, with local artists Chantelle Barrow and Maelor Hughes.

Unlike previous years the stage will be situated at the Hammerton Street junction of St James Street, instead of the bandstand, with a fireworks display set to round off proceedings at 6.30pm.

The event has been organised by Burnley Council and Charter Walk Shopping Centre in partnership with 2BR, Piper Music Management Ltd and Burnley-based promoters Doc Red Eye.
