A PIECE of art hanging in Towneley Hall has been voted the nation’s favourite such project at a glittering ceremony.
Artists Lauren Sagar and Sharon Campbell hit the red carpet at the National Lottery Awards and collected the gong for their work, the Chandelier of Lost Earrings.
The event, which is to be broadcast on BBC One at 10.45pm tomorrow, was hosted by TV presenter John Barrowman and attended by singer Pixie Lott and Radio One DJ Scott Mills.
A short film featuring Jade Jagger, who surprised the artists with the news that they had won, will also be shown.
Lauren said: “We would like to thank the hundreds of people who contributed jewellery to the chandelier, and also the wonderful people of Burnley who backed us to win.
We would like to thank National Lottery players – without your support we wouldn’t have been able to create the Chandelier. We are delighted to received the National Lottery Award, it is a great honour.”
