BURNLEY actor Muzz Khan is set to make a rare trip back home to play his first ever hometown DJ set.

The 32-year-old, who has just filmed scenes alongside Kiefer Sutherland for 24: Live Another Day, will play a set at Vogue nightclub next Friday.

And having performed at London’s Ministry of Sound and O2 Academy Brixton, the former Pendle Youth Theatre member is thrilled to finally be asked to play in East Lancashire.

Mr Khan, who grew up in Nelson, will play an intimate set at the Hammerton Street venue, formerly known as Fusion, the night before he makes an appearance at Towneley Park dance festival Drop The Beat.

He said: “I'm really excited about it.

“Organised by Craig Kennedy and Madge Nawaz, these two local guys are looking to create a truly monumental festival in Burnley and put the town right on the map.

“I can tell you now that, having seen the headliners they've booked — which include K-Klass, Stu Allan, Rob Tissera and Allister Whitehead — they’ve pulled of quite a feat here.

“It oozes in quality and resonated with me massively down here in London.

“I'll be making a rare trip to Burnley just to DJ on the day. It's got the whole area buzzing.”

The former Accrington and Rossendale College, who now lives in London, has also had parts in the Chris Morris film Four Lions and performed for the Royal Shakespeare Company. His latest project, ITV drama The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, will hit screens next month.

For every £25 ticket to Drop The Beat festival, £3 will be donated to Furniture for Education Worldwide, based in Nelson Square, Burnley.
