Lancashire Telegraph: Revamp of historic Burnley pub Revamp of historic Burnley pub

PLANS to return a Burnley pub to its ‘original form’ have been accepted by the council.

The Tim Bobbin, in Padiham Road, has secured planning permission to remove the extensions built during the last four decades and create four small rooms, with a central bar area, instead.

The old basement beer store will also be reinstated for its original purpose, with some modern sash windows installed, in keeping with the nineteenth century building.

The proposals were given the green light by planning officers at Burnley Council.

Good news the go-ahead has been given, to give the Tim Bobbin a more traditional look and feel. I think the four smaller room plan is very welcome. I visit many pubs where open-plan conversion's have resulted in a soulless environment.
