STUDENTS at Pendle Vale College had an out-of-this-world experience this week with a guest lesson from a top astronomer.
Naomi Smith, from observatory Jodrell Bank, encouraged students to consider following an astrophysics or astronomy degree at university.
Students from KS3 are learning about the sun and considering whether life exists beyond our world.
Year 11 pupils benefited from an advanced lesson about atoms, radiation and the universe.
The event is part of Pendle Vale’s space and rocket week to celebrate National Science and Engineering week.
Students across the college will be taking part in cross-curricular projects, quizzes and challenges aiming to inspire them to become the next big thing in astrophysics or space technology and engineering.
