AN ELDERLY woman managed to escape from her car when it was involved in a collision.
Firefighters were called to Bradley Road in Nelson, at 1pm yesterday (SUN) after reports of a crash involving a Citroen Saxo and a Vauxhall Corsa.
When they arrived, the woman had climbed out of her car with assistance from other emergency services.
A man, who was in the Corsa, was not injured. Nelson crew manager Lee Garnett said: “We moved the car to the side of the road, cleared the glass and made sure the scene was safe.”
Damage was caused to the front end of the Citroen and the drivers’ side of the Corsa.
