Man knocked unconscious at Burnley nightclub

A 25-YEAR-OLD man was knocked unconscious during an unprovoked assault in a Burnley nightclub.

The man suffered a fractured cheekbone and eye socket in the attack at Posh nightclub, in Ormerod Street, between 1am and 3am on January 19.

Officers are trying to trace the man responsible.

DC Hayden Sibley said: “We are making a number of enquiries to try and trace the person responsible and as part of that, I would appeal to anyone who was in the club and saw what happened to get in touch with us.

“The victim on the night was wearing a white t-shirt with a grey cardigan over the top and dark jeans, and the assault happened as he crossed the dance floor to find his friends – if anyone was there and saw what happened, please call police on 101.”

I think we're getting to the point where ALL nightclubs and pubs should be legally required to have CCTV cameras fitted. Obviously Burnley would struggle to implement this as they are still coming to terms with electricity.
