THREE friends from Haslingden have climbed the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
The pals raised just under £2,000 for Rossendale Hospice, in memory of their friend David Wylie, also from Haslingden, who died of a heart attack, aged 49.
Gordon Waddington, Graham Dowling and Mark Kayley climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania. The hospice was the cause chosen by Mr Wylie’s widow Jeanette, although their friend wasn’t treated at the centre.
Mr Waddington and Mr Dowling, 48, had previously climbed the 3,718m Mount Teide, in Tenerife. To donate to the trio’s cause, visit http://www.justgiving. com/Gordon-Graham-Mark
