AN inquest into the death of a man following a sports car crash has been adjourned while a police investigation into possible charges is carried out.

Burnley Coroner’s Court was told Farhan Majid, 35, died after being thrown from a vehicle on Rochdale Road, Edenfield, just after 12.15am on January 8.

Home Office pathologist Dr Charles Wilson said Mr Majid, of Convent Grove, Rochdale, died as the result of ‘multiple injuries’.

Coroner’s officer PC Martin Hall said the body of the deceased was identified by his father, Abdul Majid.

He added: “Further inquiries are to be made into the circumstances of the death, and the possibility of charges to be made in relation to it.”

East Lancashire coroner Richard Taylor adjourned proceedings until May 6.

Police said the 29-year-old driver of the car, a BMW M5, from Moss Side Manchester was left with a broken wrist, arm and elbow. His back-seat passengers, aged 23 and 24, suffered minor injuries.
