AN MP has called on budding musicians and filmmakers to enter a competition to showcase their talent at the House of Commons.

Rossendale and Darwen MP Jake Berry has urged people to enter Parliament’s biggest competitions, Rock the House and Film the House.

Both competitions offer the opportunity for East Lancashire’s creative minds to have their work judged by the leading lights of industry and win prizes ranging from festival slots, studio time, equipment and the opportunity to have your work premiered in London’s West End.

Mr Berry said: “Rossendale and Darwen have a wealth of talented individuals and this competition is the perfect opportunity for this talent to be showcased in Parliament.

“I want to encourage any budding film directors and musicians to apply for this competition, which has the potential to take their careers to the next level.

“I would love to see a winner from Rossendale and Darwen and it would reinforce my view that the North West is the most talented place in the UK.”
