RESIDENTS in Stacksteads were left without power for four hours after a fault with a underground power cable.

Around 30 houses in Booth Road had no electricity supply from 5.20am until power was restored at 9.20am on New Years Eve.

A spokesperson for Electricity North West said: “Around 30 customers were affected by an underground cable fault in the Stacksteads area at 5.20 this morning.

"Engineers attended and restored power to all customers by 9.20am. We apologise for any inconvenience and have installed extra monitoring equipment at the substation.
