A CAMPAIGN to promote recycling and bin collection changes over Christmas is taking place in Burnley.

It will include promotional activity at the town’s major supermarkets and in the town centre.

Coun Tony Harrison, executive member for community services, said: “The annual recycling calendars have been delivered to all households within the borough notifying of day changes.

“Changes have been kept to a minimum, and the only collections which are affected are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.”

Garden waste collections have now been stopped for the year, and will re-start on Monday, January 20.

Real Christmas trees will also be collected by the council’s recycling team. Any requests for collection need to be made by January 8 to the Contact Centre on 01282 425011.
