Focus on global warming for Burnley author

A BURNLEY author has released a new novel about the effects of global warming.

The Phoenix Affair by Paul Marx, of Gainsborough Avenue, Rosehill, hit bookshelves in November and takes a fictional look at the social impact of climate change.

Mr Marx, a former aerospace engineer, said he was inspired to write the book because he felt politicians were “dodging the real issue behind the world’s environmental issues”.

He added: “Every natural disaster has a social and economic knock-on effect.

“I was keen to show how global warming could affect people at a grassroots level.”

The Phoenix Affair is available through publishing firm AuthorHouseUK.

Don't you mean: "Every natural disaster is an opportunity to flog the green cr*p, and demand more taxes to prove it.
Give it a rest will you.

Spot on eastlancslad. Changes in weather patterns are and always have been cyclical.Ten thousand years ago, this area was under several miles of ice, millions of years before that we were at the bottom of a tropical sea. All global warming/climate change has done is to give politicians an opportunity to come up with ideas to extract taxes from us. Just out of interest, desperate for funds to fight a war, Henry V111 put a tax on beards, not his own of course!!! Not a lot has changed has it.
