MARTIAL artists in Rossendale have been given a major boost towards attending the world kickboxing championships.
Coun Kim Snape, county council young people’s champion, has weighed in with a £700 grant for Alf’s Kickboxing Academy.
The Bacup club is looking to send as many fighters as possible to the ISKA tournament in North Cyprus next month.
But fundraising will continue as the funding will only cover the attendance of one individual and the club wants 16 to attend.
Coun Snape said: “Attending the World Championships gives young people the chance to represent their country at the highest level.”
