AN East Lancashire MP has welcomed improvements to the region’s motorway.
Rossendale and Darwen MP Jake Berry said he was delighted to hear work was to be carried out on the M65.
The Highways Agency has announced it will be carrying out works to the both carriageways, between junctions four and six, overnight until September 13.
Inlay patching across lanes, joint sealing and renewal works to the road markings and studs will take place between 10pm and 5am, when traffic flows are the lightest. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted. Mr Berry said: “It is great to hear that the gateway to East Lancashire is being improved. The M65 is often the first thing that visitors see of Darwen and I am really pleased that the Highways Agency will be carrying out these improvements.”
