Rossendale cafe owners win two top awards

A Rossendale couple have sampled the sweet taste of success after landing two top awards at a renowned national food awards.
The Chocolate Cafe’s owners Paul and Emma Morris celebrated after being granted two gold stars, the highest acolade available, for their products in this year’s Great Taste Awards which recognises the best speciality food in Great Britain.
It is the first time their Ramsbottom-based shop, cafe and chocolate factory have won a double top honour for their chocolates in the contest.
Their Colombianista truffles and 70 per cent arauca dark chocolate bar wowed judges to win two of only 125 gold star awards.
The pair this year celebrated their fifth year in business which now has 17 staff after dreaming up the idea whilst property developers in the French Riviera Paul said: “We’re absolutely delighted because we’ve never won two awards simultaneously before and it was very unexpected because we were up against some large multinational companies.
“Our arauca chocolate is made using beans that haven’t been used before in the UK so it’s great to know that it’s pleased the experts.
“We are very thankful to all our workers and have told our producers in Colombia who are also really happy.
“People thought that our idea was a bit unusual but we always had faith in it working and its pleasing to have our belief proven.”
