Burnley pensioner denies sex offences

A BURNLEY pensioner is facing trial, after denying a string of sex offences.
Christopher Lyons, 66, is accused of doing an act prohibited by a sexual offences prevention order, between October and December 2011. It is alleged he used the internet for a purpose other than seeking work, studying, lawful recreation or buying goods and made indecent images of children under 16. He denied the allegation at Burnley Crown Court.
Lyons, of Bromsgrove Road, Burnley, also pleaded not guilty to four counts of distributing an indecent photo of a child – a moving image at level five, 14 moving images at level four, two moving images at level three and nine moving images at level two.
The defendant denied five allegations of making an indecent photo of a child – two images at level five, 185 pictures at level four, 178 images at level three, 180 images at level two and 676 pictures at level one. The alleged offences are said to have taken place between October and December 2011, at Burnley.
Lyons further pleaded not guilty to one charge of possessing extreme pornography. He was bailed until December 2.
